About Chris Becker

Chris Becker is an experienced Prosecutor having spent his entire 29-year career with the Kent County Prosecutors Office.
Chris graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in International Relations 1992 and went on to Valparaiso School of Law graduating 1995. After that he was hired directly into the Kent County Prosecutors Office.
Chris served as Chief Assistant Prosecutor from 2011-2016, and was elected Kent County
Prosecutor in November of 2016. He has handled over 180 felony jury trials in career
with prosecutor’s office.
Chris Currently serves on Michigan’s Mental Health Diversion Counsel, is Vice President of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan and is a member of the Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Director’s Children’s Advocacy Center of Kent County, Grand Rapids Boys and Girls Club, Mary Free Bed YMCA, and
Families Against Narcotics Grand Rapids Chapter.
He is the co-chair of the Kent County
Domestic Violence Action Network (DVAN) and a member of the Kent County Stop Elder Abuse Task Force.
He was the 2015 winner of Call to Justice Advocacy Award given by Elder Law of Michigan and named the 2018 Outstanding Alumni for Kentwood Public Schools.
